Saturday morning in Melbourne…

So I’ve spent some time this morning playing around with the website to change the colours over from the default theme to something a little brighter…Dad did say that I was allowed to change the theme and said that he wasn’t bothered so I chose my bike colours of course.

It’s been a disappointing few days to be honest. Some silly security guards did some silly things and the quarantine hotels were breached and the virus escaped into the wild. Whilst our numbers are still very low in comparison to the rest of the work, they are high for Australia so we are back in lockdown again. Very frustrating.

Ewan is super excited about learning from home again, Maggie not so much I think. It’s not as good for her as it is for Ewan. She hasn’t seen her best friend for such a long time as Jessica has effectively moved to Phillip Island. Maggie thrives off social contact so has become pretty clingy. The stop/start nature of what has been going on in Australia isn’t good for her.

I am going back to work at Yarra Trams for an undefined period of time to replace my replacement. I feel a little bad because in some ways if the pandemic hadn’t hit I would be probably doing something completely different now. It has completely disrupted this year and I am not sure how things will pan out going forward.

Anyway, it has been good to work with @geecee a little bit on this blog and I hope that people engage with it. He has spent quite a bit of time tweaking the settings to get the social part sorted. It works on mobiles quite well…not as convenient as an actual application as there is no integration with the native notification functionality of the phone. I am sure i can speak for dad and say that it would be good to get some feedback.

Here are a couple of recent photos of the Aussies. This was from a walk that Ewan, Maggie, and I did from Elwood to Port Melbourne following the “Solar System” walk. We didn’t get to Neptune and Pluto.

I’ll try and get my family to start to use the blog and social stuff dad and will try and post once a week if I can. The social bit is easier than the blog but I know that the blog has more capabilities.
